This drawing, published by Lepsius in 1848 in the first volume of the Denkmäler aus Aegypte und Aethiopia (Monuments of Egypt and Ethiopia), shows a number of tombs along the entrance road to the Pyramid of Cheops. Many of these tombs, whose architecture and inscriptions were described in the Denkmäler, date from the Old Kingdom.
