Fig.1: Model of the tomb of TutankhamunThe tomb was approached by a stairwell with sixteen steps, and a long descending passage into an antechamber. This led to the burial chamber at right, an annex in front of the antechamber, and a treasury behind the burial chamber. All of the rooms had blocked doorways except that between the burial chamber and treasury.
