Da Vinci: anatomy of human skull interior

Anatomy of the human skull interior (Da Vinci, ca. 1480)

This drawing by Leonardo Da Vinci, dating from about 1480,  portrays the internal anatomy of a human skull, showing the basicranial area where there are numerous foramen for nerves and blood vessels.  The figure is here reversed to show labels and notes in Da Vinci's characteristic mirror writing.

This is  one of many drawings of human anatomy by da Vinci, some of which are owned by the Royal collection in England.
