 Primate Evolution Chart 1

Primate evolution in the Paleocene and Eocene periods (after Gingerich).

This chart shows the relations between Proprimates and early Primates, which in the Paleocene and Eocene periods split into two groups, lemur-like Adapoids and tarsier-like Tarsoids or Omomyids.  By the Early Oligocene period (35-28 mya) there appear the earliest anthropoidea, the ancestors of monkeys, apes, and humans.
