Late Permian tetrapod zones in Russia

Late Permian tetrapod zones in Russia (Golubev 2000,2005;Lucas and Shen 2018; Athena Review)

This chart summarizes Late Permian Tetrapod Zones in Russia. Each Zone has a type species with a drawing of a representative skull, shown in the two central columns. These are correlated with fossil assemblages and subassemblages (shown in right-hand columns), and with geological periods and horizons (shown at left). These Russian Tetrapod Zones can also be directly correlated with the Beaufort Group biozones in South Africa, as well as with Permian sequences defined elsewhere.
