Painted columns and lintels at the Temple of Ramesses II (Denkmaler v.1, 1849)

This lithograph from the German Expedition shows the elaborate painted columns and lintels found at the Temple of Ramesses II at Karnak in ancient Thebes. The capitals and column bases typically have floral motifs, while figurative scenes with hieroglyphic inscriptions occupy the lintels and column shafts.
