Thebes: Portait of an 18th Dynasty official     .

Limestone head of an 18th Dynasty official (Brussels Museum; AE 1915-1).

This realistic portrait-like sculpture, showing a man with a head covering similar to those worn by palace officials, dates from ca. 1350-1300 BC in the 18th Dynasty, probably from the reign of Thutmosis III or his son, Amenhotep II. The finely detailed headwear and naturalistic facial details represent a fully accomplished level of sculpture typical of that period in the New Kingdom.
