Giza: Statue of Menkaure (4th Dynasty)  .

Detail of Statue of Menkaure (Egyptian National Museum)

Menkaure was the son of Khafra and the grandson of Khufu. Menkaure's pyramid is the smallest of the three major pyramids at Giza. Next to it are three satellite pyramids, two of which are thought to represent the tombs of two wives of Menkaure, Queen Khamerernebty II and Queen Rekhetre.

Menkaure is portrayed in this statue wearing a pharonic headdress and a false beard, both of which are typically shown on royal portraits.
