Valley of the Kings: Tomb of Ramesses VI (KV 9)     .

Plan (top) & section (bot.) of the tomb of Ramesses VI and adjacent tombs (after Theban Mapping Project)

As the plan and section indicate, the tomb (KV 9) of Ramesses VI, a 20th Dynasty monarch who reigned from 1141-1133 BC, overlies two earlier tombs, those of Tutankhamen (KV 62), who reigned from 1334-1325 BC in the 18th Dynasty, and Horemheb (KV 57), the last monarch of the 18th Dynasty, who ruled from 1319-1292 BC.

A fourth tomb (KV 12), which held royal family members of the 19th and 20th Dynasties, abuts the northern end of Ramesses VI's tomb, and may partly postdate it.
