Model of the tomb of Tutankhamun (KV 62) in the Valley of the Kings


The tomb was approached by a stairwell with sixteen steps, and a long descending passage into an antechamber. This led to the burial chamber at right, an annex in front of the antechamber, and a treasury behind the burial chamber.

All of the rooms were found to have blocked doorways except that between the burial chamber and treasury. The Tomb had apparently been entered in distant antiquity, but not significantly disturbed or robbed.
