This plan shows the major reservoirs and temple complexes of Angkor. The temples were constructed by a series of Khmer dynasties between the 9th and 15th centuries AD. After the rival Chams sacked Angkor in the 12th century, the Khmer rebuilt the city under the last of their major rulers, Jayavarman VII. The huge ceremonial precinct of Angkor Thom was built during his reign, early in the 13th century.
